How We Create Change
The shifts we work for

In the villages of northern Bangladesh, a gender-diverse young person learns early to disappear — to hide who they are in order to stay safe. For us, impact is not only what we can count. It is what changes in a single life, and in a community, when that disappearing stops. We measure our work by the shifts it sets in motion.

From hidden to seen

When a rural young person, taught to stay invisible, first understands they are a person with dignity and rights.

How

We go into rural communities that most organisations never reach, with rights education, youth leadership and creative awareness — street drama, storytelling — led by people who share the same lived reality.

So what

More than 4,650 young people have taken part in our trainings, and our community campaigns have reached over a million people — for many, the first time they hear that they are citizens with rights, not something to be hidden.

From alone to connected

When scattered, isolated individuals find others, and groups that once survived alone begin to act together.

How

We create safe community spaces and bring rural gender-diverse groups together, instead of leaving each to stand alone.

So what

We run four community-led drop-in spaces, serve as Secretariat of the Showhardo Alliance and Vice-President of the Prantik Nagorik Network (around 30 organisations), and have trained 40 organisations — building connection where there was only isolation.

From at risk to protected

When a community living under threat can find safety and survive the moment of crisis.

How

In a hostile environment, we provide emergency crisis support, safety and security training, and do-no-harm protection — quietly, and with care for people’s identities.

So what

We have provided emergency crisis support to 15 individuals in immediate danger, trained 30 at-risk organisations in safety and security, and built practical security tools — sustaining one of the few safe spaces rural gender-diverse youth have.

From silenced to heard

When people who were never meant to speak begin to tell their own stories, and reach those who hold power.

How

We document and amplify community voices, and carry them to local institutions and human-rights processes.

So what

We have produced 10 community storytelling videos, engaged five local-government departments, and contributed to seven UN human-rights submissions — carrying rural voices to tables they are usually shut out of.

From excluded to capable

When marginalised youth gain the skills, confidence and means to shape their own futures.

How

We provide skills and livelihood support, civic and leadership building, and run an inclusive community social enterprise.

So what

We have placed 42 livelihood assets with marginalised youth and women and built NoboRong Crafts Collection — turning exclusion into the ability to stand on one’s own.

From division to coexistence

When young people of different faiths and identities choose understanding over fear.

How

Through interfaith dialogue, fact-checking against misinformation and community drama, we bring together youth of all religions, Hijra and indigenous communities.

So what

Our “Youth Harmony” work in Rangpur — talk shows, street dramas and fact-checking campaigns — has opened conversations on coexistence at a time of rising extremism.
